is negotiable.

Course Description
This course provides a minimum of 500 hours of supervised clinical
experience. Students will be assigned to one or more programs
providing clinical services where they will conduct psychological
assessments and provide psychological interventions under the
supervision of registered psychologists. The classroom component
of the course involves activities designed to provide students
with additional practicum-related support, exposure to special
assessment and intervention topics, and guidance regarding career
preparation. Enrolment in this course is limited to students
in the M.Sc. program, and by permission of the department. Prereq:
PSYC 5023, 5053, and 5063.
Qualifications A PhD
in Clinical Psychology is preferred, however applicants with
a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, or a PhD in
Counselling Psychology will be considered. The successful applicant
must be a Registered Psychologist in the Province of Nova Scotia
and have suitable clinical experience.

management service, is looking for psychologists interesting
in joining our team.
Our
program is heavily-based on understanding the psychosocial factors
associated with obesity and achieving healthy weight. Using
behavioural and nutritional interventions, our program seeks
to help individuals with obesity establish healthier relationships
with food, and promote healthy lifestyles and self-esteem.
The
Psychologist is an integral member of the team who provides
an individual psychological assessment of all group participants,
conducts an assessment of the suitability of individuals to
join a specific group, and participates in a number of group
modules focusing on psychosocial management issues. The
psychologist also provides individual sessions on an as needed
basis.
We
are looking for PhD Psychologists, registered to practice in
Nova Scotia with an interest in our program. Psychological services
are contracted on a group basis. That is, the Psychologist is
asked to commit to following specific groups over the entire
year program so that continuity of services is provided to participants.
